I've been thinking about your comments on modules. I think modularity is where I came in in the 80s in neuroscience pop science. I don't even notice it now, I just necker cube it all the way down with the homunculi dancing like the old man https://aeon.co/essays/dance-was-ubiquitous-in-ancient-rome-what-was-its-meaning

I was much more taken/distracted with the "outsourcing" of cognition, which is what Mary Douglas is working towards I suspect (at least in my frame, _avant la lettre_ )

RE; modules, I think this similarly of morality and drives the whole reading at evolution-morality reactions
